Users have the ability to accept the recommendations made by the system at the course or section level. Additionally, these actions can be undone. Users have access to a wealth of information in the Smart Schedule Sandbox grid that can be used for data-driven decision making. Each course offers a link to view course-specific demand data.
The Candidate Type field on the course row displays the type of recommendation.
Addition: Sections that could potentially be added to the schedule to meet student need. Situations where the demand indicates that you could fill at least another half section based on average section size.
Reduction: Sections that could potentially be removed from the schedule without negatively impacting student need.
Elimination: Courses that could potentially be removed from a schedule entirely as long as graduation requirements are not compromised. The criteria used is any course with a total enrollment less than 10 and less than 50% enrollment ratio (total enrollment < 10 and ((total enrollment / max enrollment) < .5))
Time Change: Sections that could potentially be moved to a different meeting pattern to serve more students.
No Action: Sections that are being offered appropriately. No action is needed for these sections.
The Action field on the section row displays the action that will happen when a user clicks Accept.
Add: This recommended section will be added to the schedule.
Remove: This existing section will be removed from the schedule.
No Change: No recommendations exist for this section and no changes will be made.
Accepting a recommendation at the course level will accept all section-level recommendations for that course. To accept a recommendation at the course level, click the blue Accept button on a course row. Once clicked, the it will change to an Undo button.
To undo a recommendation at the course level, click the white Undo button on a course row. This will undo all section-level recommendations.
To accept individual recommendations at the section level, first expand the section rows with the + icon, then click the blue Accept button on the desired section-level recommendations. Once clicked, the it will change to an Undo button.
To undo a recommendation at the section level, click the white Undo button on a course row. This will undo only individual section recommendations.
