The Student Load Math Validation by Program - Summary report allows a QA overview to be done on the results of a Platinum Analytics run. Specifically, this report measures how accurately Platinum applied the estimated student credit hour load to specific course probabilities. The report groups students by Program and lists how many students were in that program during the run (shows breakdown of actual students and virtual students, as well as how many were already registered at the time of the analytics run). The report also shows the average student credit hour load assigned by the Analytics run compared to the average estimated student credit hour load calculated prior to the run.
On a program by program basis, this allows a user to see if Platinum is assigning the correct amount of hours, and not adding or dropping hours as the process runs through the rules and sub-rules when generating the Analytics results (by analyzing the difference between the Avg. Load assigned by the Analytics run and the Estimated Load in Platinum). If a problem is discovered, a user can then drill down further using the more detailed Student Load reports to get specific individual student details.
Program - Academic program used in the Analytic run. Each student is grouped into one program.
Student Total - Total number of students in the academic program (includes both actual and simulated students).
w/ IDs - Number of actual students in the Analytics run that have ID's in the system. Students in the Analytics run that do not have IDs are simulated by Platinum to account for incoming freshman and potential transfers that are not currently in the system.
Registered - Count of students that were registered prior to the Analytics run.
Courses - Unique courses offered of that program in the Analytics run.
Courses per Student - Average number of courses assigned to a student by the Analytics run.
Avg. Load (Hrs.) - Average number of credit hours assigned to a student by the Analytics run.
Est Load - Average credit hour load per student estimated in Platinum prior to the Analytics run.
