The Timetabling sandbox process requires that both time and room scheduling preferences be configured. Time scheduling preferences are used to determine preferred times for sections just as room scheduling preferences are used to determine preferred rooms.
Similar to room scheduling preferences, time scheduling preferences are saved as part of a time-specific preference set. Individual time preference rules within the set determine what meeting patterns and/or meeting pattern groups are preferred based on the section's campus, delivery method, meeting type, subject, or course.
The process of creating time preference sets and defining and testing rules within the sets is exactly the same as in room preference sets.
